Nidalee the Bestial Huntress
She is a strong pick but demands accuracy. Mayhem's accelerated pace means fights happen more often, so you land more spears but also get dove more frequently. If you miss your Javelin Tosses, you provide almost zero teamfight value. You need to hit spears to unlock your Cougar form execution damage.
Landing the max-range Javelin Toss is non-negotiable. A long-range hit applies Hunted, marking the target and reducing your Cougar form cooldowns. This lets you gap-close with W, execute with Q, and reset to poke again. Short-range spears deal negligible damage and leave you vulnerable.
Do not engage in Cougar form unless the target is Hunted. Use W to dash to a marked target for the execute bonus on Q. Swipe (W) in Cougar form helps clear waves or damage clumped enemies, but you should retreat to human form immediately after. Staying in melee range without resets gets you killed instantly in Mayhem.
Play far back and use your Bushwhack (W) traps on the only approach angles. Traps trigger Hunted on enemies who step on them, giving you the burst tools to fight back if they dive. Save your Cougar W escape for after the enemy burns their gap-closer. Never face-check bushes or walk up to proc Primal Surge.
Use it on cooldown for the attack speed buff, but do not put yourself in danger to reach allies. In Mayhem, the healing output is often outpaced by the damage modifiers. Prioritize self-peel and spear damage over being a primary healer. The attack speed helps your ADC win trades, so cast it when you are safe.
You need to land max-range spears to shred through their health pools. Short spears will tickle tanks who stack MR early. Look for squishy backline targets instead of wasting time on the frontline. If you must hit a tank, wait for them to step on a trap for the Hunted shred bonus.
Place them in chokepoints and brush edges where enemies will walk during the fight. Traps grant vision and apply Hunted, setting up your all-in. Do not spam them randomly in open lanes where they are easily avoided. A trapped enemy is a free kill for your team.
Snowball is risky because it tempts you into bad melee engagements. Nidalee prefers Flash for the instant reposition after a Cougar combo. If you take Snowball, use it only to finish a Hunted target who is low and retreating. Do not use it to start fights.
Use Cougar form W (Swipe) to clear the minion wave once it clumps. This keeps the wave off your tower and forces enemies to dodge spears from behind their minions. Do not waste human form mana on clearing; save it for spears. Clearing quickly also lets you set traps in the enemy's path.
Switch to a trap-and-peel playstyle. Place Bushwhacks defensively and use Primal Surge to sustain your actual carries. Your execute damage scales poorly if you cannot land spears to trigger Hunted. Accept a support role rather than forcing bad poke attempts.
Save your Cougar W (Pounce) strictly as an escape. Do not use it to chase until the assassin has blown their cooldowns on someone else. Place traps directly on top of yourself when you see them approach. Your human E can heal some of their burst, but positioning is your real defense.
She is a poke champion who transitions into an execute finisher. Early game revolves around landing spears to chunk enemies before the fight starts. Once targets are low and Hunted, you dive in with Cougar form to close out kills. Trying to execute full-health targets will get you deleted.
Fights are constant, so you have less time to reset and fish for spears. You must land skillshots under pressure while dodging incoming fire. The faster cooldowns help your Cougar form resets, but the increased damage makes errors fatal. Adapt by playing closer to your team than you would in standard ARAM.
Diving into the enemy team without a Hunted proc. This leaves you stuck in melee range with no burst and no escape. Always confirm the mark is active before you pounce. If you miss the spear, do not force the engage.
