Cassiopeia the Serpent's Embrace
She is a late-game monster but a fragile early pick. You spend the first few minutes playing safe and fishing for poison applications. Once you have a few items and levels in Twin Fang, your sustained damage becomes nearly impossible for squishy comps to survive. The tradeoff is that dive-heavy teams can shut you down before you scale.
Start with the Lost Chapter component for mana sustain. You need the mana pool to keep poisoning waves and harassing enemies under their tower. Doran's Ring or pure AP items leave you out of mana after one extended fight. Prioritize mana so you can spam abilities without backing.
Look for ability haste or mana regeneration augments early. Mayhem mode speeds up the game, so you need your abilities available constantly to keep up. Damage augments are tempting, but they do not help if you are oom or have long cooldowns. Once your mana is stable, grab raw AP or magic penetration for mid-game spikes.
Use it to check bushes and zone enemies off the wave. The poison lingers, so enemies stepping into it give you chase potential with Twin Fang. Do not spam it purely for damage early; the mana cost adds up. Use it to create zones where enemies cannot safely farm or engage.
Max Twin Fang when you hit multiple poisoned targets consistently. This happens when enemies clump up or your team has other sources of damage to help you proc the reset. Max Miasma if you need the grounding effect to stop dash-heavy champions like Zac or Rakan. Twin Fang gives damage; Miasma gives utility and zone control.
Flash-R or wait for enemies to commit to a Snowball engage. Mayhem players are aggressive, so they often dash straight at you. Turn and ult when they are mid-flight or right after they land. If you whiff, back off immediately because you have no escape tool.
Rush Liandry's Torment or Rod of Ages depending on survivability needs. Liandry's shreds tanks and synergizes with your poison ticks. Rod of Ages keeps you alive through burst. Follow with Rylai's Crystal Scepter to kite melee threats, then finish with Rabadon's Deathcap or Void Staff.
Save Miasma for their dash entry point. The grounding effect stops them from using movement abilities once they land. Kite backward while spamming Twin Fang on poisoned targets. If they commit too deep, turn with Petrifying Gaze for an easy kill.
Snowball is risky but gives you a surprise engage angle. You can Snowball in, land on a squishy, and immediately ult their team. The safer option is Mark/Dash for poke or Exhaust for survivability against assassins. Only take Snowball if your team lacks engage and you trust your reaction speed.
Kite them with Rylai's slows and Liandry's burn. You do not burst tanks, so do not try to all-in them head-on. Poke with poison, back off, and let the burn whittle them down. Save Miasma for when they try to engage so you can ground their dash.
She has no mobility and relies on kiting. Hard engage or long-range poke comps ruin her game plan. If you get caught out, you die before you can output damage. Play around your team and never face-check bushes in Mayhem's fast-paced environment.
Drop it directly on yourself when you see a Snowball or dash coming. The grounding effect prevents enemies from following up. This forces them to walk through the zone, giving you time to reposition. Do not throw it forward aggressively unless you are chasing a low-HP target.
Yes, if you rushed Tear of the Goddess early. The shield saves you from burst combos that would otherwise one-shot you. However, delaying your power spike for Tear can hurt in Mayhem's accelerated pace. Build it only if the game goes past 15 minutes and you need the survivability.
Play back and poison the wave to clear minions fast. Do not force trades unless an enemy steps into multiple poison pools. Use Twin Fang only when you have mana to sustain the spam. Survive to your first item spike, then look for aggressive angles.
She pairs well with AoE CC that groups enemies for her ult. Champions like Amumu, Malphite, or Orianna set up perfect Petrifying Gaze opportunities. She also works with other poison champions like Teemo or Singed for easy Twin Fang resets. Avoid picking her with teams that have no frontline.
