Milio FAQ

Milio The Gentle Flame

FAQ
Is Milio a carry or a pure support in ARAM: Mayhem?

Milio is a backline enabler first, not a solo carry. If your team has a marksman, poke mage, or on-hit champion who can stand and fire, play around them with shields, range support, and peel. The tradeoff is that you usually lose direct damage races if your main damage dealers die early.

Who should I play around as Milio?

Pick one or two teammates who can convert your protection into damage. If an ally is consistently stepping forward, landing autos, or casting from safe range, attach your attention to them instead of spreading every spell randomly. The tradeoff is that ignored teammates may die, so choose the player who actually deals damage and positions well.

When should I use Milio’s ultimate?

Use it when multiple allies are hit by dangerous crowd control or when cleansing one key carry keeps the fight alive. If the enemy has a clear engage pattern, hold the ultimate through light poke and wait for the real lock-down. The tradeoff is patience: saving it too long can lose a teammate before the cleanse matters.

Should I ult for only one teammate?

Yes, if that teammate is your win condition and the fight is about to be decided. If your strongest damage dealer gets caught but can still turn the fight after being freed, use the ultimate and immediately add shields or movement help. The tradeoff is that the next enemy engage becomes much scarier while your team has no group reset.

How do I avoid wasting Milio’s cleanse?

Do not press it into damage alone unless the heal and tempo are absolutely needed. If the enemy comp has hard crowd control, suppressive pick tools, or layered engage, wait until the disabling effect lands before reacting. The tradeoff is that you must stay close enough to help, which can put you in range of follow-up damage.

How should I use Milio’s Q in fights?

Use Q as peel first when assassins, bruisers, or Snowball users dive your backline. If the enemy engage is predictable, hold it until they commit, then knock them away or disrupt their follow-up path. The tradeoff is that using Q for poke can leave your carry exposed during the enemy’s punish window.

Can Milio start fights?

He can help start a fight, but he is much better at punishing enemies who overstep. If an enemy walks too far forward, a well-timed Q can interrupt their retreat or create a window for your team to hit them. The tradeoff is low commitment pressure: if your team has no follow-up, forcing with Milio alone usually just burns a cooldown.

When should I place Milio’s healing and range zone?

Place it when your team is ready to hit, siege, or stand their ground. If your carry can safely attack from inside the zone, use it before the main trade so they get value during the whole exchange. The tradeoff is that enemies can back away, so do not drop it too early when no one is in position to use it.

How do I position on Milio?

Stand behind your frontline but close enough that your shields and ultimate reach the teammates who matter. If the enemy has dive, keep a small gap from your carry so one engage spell does not catch both of you at once. The tradeoff is that playing too far back makes your reactions late, while standing too close gives the enemy a clean multi-target engage.

What is Milio’s biggest weakness in Mayhem?

He struggles when fights start before his team is grouped or when enemies force repeated engages from different angles. If your carry gets flanked while your tools are aimed at the front line, you can only save one side cleanly. The recovery plan is to ping back, regroup near the safest damage dealer, and stop chasing into split fights.

Is Snowball good on Milio?

Snowball is risky because Milio does not want to land in the middle of the enemy team. If you take it, use it mainly to mark threats, finish a guaranteed low-health target, or reposition only when your team is already winning the fight. The tradeoff is obvious: one greedy Snowball can remove your shields, cleanse, and peel from the teammates who need them.

What augments does Milio usually want?

Prioritize augments that improve shielding, healing, haste, survivability, or ally uptime. If an augment helps you cast more often or keeps your carry alive through burst, it usually fits Milio’s job. The tradeoff is that greedy damage augments may feel fun, but they often fail when your team needs reliable peel more than extra poke.

How do I play Milio with heavy poke teams?

With poke teams, your job is to keep allies healthy enough to keep firing and to stop enemy engages after they get frustrated. Use your range support and shields when your poke champions step forward to cast, not after they already retreat. The tradeoff is that if your team misses too many skillshots, Milio cannot force the enemy to stay low by himself.

How do I play Milio against assassins and divers?

Hold Q and shields for the first real jump, not for random chip damage. If a diver commits onto your carry, peel immediately, then use ultimate only if crowd control or burst follow-up would finish the target. The tradeoff is that you may give up some poke pressure, but denying the enemy reset is usually worth more.

What should I do when my team is behind?

Stop trying to save every bad engage and protect the teammate with the best waveclear or comeback damage. If enemies are ahead, play under safer space, keep Q for dives, and use your ultimate only when it can actually turn a fight instead of delaying a lost one. The tradeoff is that some teammates will die in bad positions, but spending everything on them often loses the next fight too.
