Diana FAQ

Diana Scorn of the Moon

FAQ
Is Diana a primary engage champion in ARAM: Mayhem?

Diana can start fights, but she is not a free-entry tank. Engage when your team can follow immediately or when an enemy carry has already stepped past their frontline. If you dive alone into full vision and five ready players, you usually trade your life for cooldowns instead of a winning fight.

When should I use Snowball on Diana?

Use Snowball when landing it creates a real angle onto a backliner, not just because it hit someone. If the marked target is isolated or your ultimate can pull multiple enemies after arrival, take it fast and commit. If the mark lands on a tank standing in front of five allies, hold back unless your team is already collapsing.

Should I always go in after hitting Diana’s poke?

No. Landing your ranged setup is permission to think, not an order to dive. Go in when the target is low, separated, or missing key defensive tools; otherwise use the hit to pressure space and wait for a better window. Forcing every mark makes you predictable and lets enemies save crowd control for your dash.

How do I play Diana before the first big teamfight?

Play around brush, minion waves, and short trades instead of walking straight down the lane. If enemies are grouped tightly, threaten your engage range so they give up space, then back out before they can chain crowd control. Your goal is to keep health high enough that your first commit can actually finish someone.

Who should Diana target in fights?

Target carries when they are reachable without crossing every stun and displacement on the enemy team. If the backline is protected, hit the nearest squishy or low-health champion and use your threat to pull the fight forward. Diving the “perfect” target through four bodies is worse than killing the exposed target your team can damage with you.

How do I avoid getting blown up after engaging?

Enter after the enemy has used at least one major crowd control or burst tool, then use your shield and movement to stay active instead of standing still after the pull. If you cannot kill someone quickly, pivot toward your team so they can punish anyone chasing you. Diana is dangerous in the middle of a fight, but she is very punishable when she becomes the only target.

Is Diana better with burst or durability in Mayhem?

Build toward the job your team needs. If your team already has frontline and crowd control, a burst-focused Diana can delete fragile targets when she finds a flank or Snowball angle. If your team lacks engage, adding durability gives you more time to survive the first response, but you trade away some instant kill pressure.

What augments should I look for on Diana?

Prioritize augments that help you reach targets, survive after committing, or convert grouped enemies into damage. If an augment only rewards long-range poke or passive play, it usually does less for Diana than one that supports diving and repeated melee pressure. Choose for your current lobby: defensive value matters more when the enemy has heavy lockdown, while damage value is better when they lack peel.

How should I play against heavy peel and crowd control?

Do not be the first champion seen walking into their full setup. Wait for your teammates to bait out stuns, hooks, knockbacks, or exhaust-style defensive tools, then enter while those answers are unavailable. If they refuse to spend anything, keep threatening from fog and make them lose lane space instead of donating a clean engage.

How do I use Diana’s ultimate well in ARAM: Mayhem?

Use it when it changes the fight, not just when one enemy is in range. A multi-target pull is ideal, but a single carry catch is enough if your team can instantly finish the target. The tradeoff is simple: holding it too long wastes pressure, but using it on a tank with no follow-up often leaves you stuck in the enemy team.

What team comps make Diana feel strongest?

Diana is strongest with allies who can follow her engage quickly, add area damage, or lock enemies in place after she pulls them together. If your team has poke only and no one wants to walk forward, you need to be more patient and punish overextensions rather than forcing full dives. When your team has another initiator, let them draw cooldowns first, then enter as the second wave.

What enemy comps are hardest for Diana?

Comps with layered crowd control, disengage, and durable frontliners can make Diana’s first entry very risky. If they can stop your dash, push you away, and then burst you, you must attack from angles instead of straight through the lane. Against those teams, winning often comes from punishing a split carry or following another engage, not from solo hero plays.

How should I fight when Diana falls behind?

Stop looking for full-health one-shots and start playing for cleanup. Shield damage for your team, threaten low targets, and use your engage to punish enemies who overchase after a won trade. A behind Diana can still swing a fight with a good pull, but she cannot afford to be the first body removed.

What is the biggest mistake Diana players make?

The biggest mistake is engaging because the button is available, not because the fight is ready. Check ally position, enemy cooldowns, and whether your target can actually die before you commit. Diana rewards confidence, but blind confidence turns her into a delivery system for enemy crowd control.

How do I close games with Diana in Mayhem?

When your team is ahead, control the center of the lane and threaten flanks so enemies cannot safely clear waves or walk up together. Do not dive fountain-adjacent positions or chase past your team unless the last threats are already dead. Diana closes best by forcing one clean engage, winning the numbers advantage, then letting the wave and team damage finish the push.
