Teemo the Swift Scout
Teemo thrives in Mayhem because the accelerated gold and experience let him reach his core item powerspikes much earlier than in standard modes. The constant teamfighting forces enemies to walk through his mushroom fields repeatedly, creating massive zone control. However, he remains squishy and vulnerable to all-in engages, so positioning is still critical.
Prioritize augments that enhance his poison damage or mushroom utility, as these scale extremely well in extended fights. Damage-over-time amplification pairs perfectly with his passive Toxic Shot, letting him whittle down tanks and squishies alike. If you get an augment that adds extra mushrooms or increases their slow, take it immediately for better zone control.
Stay behind your frontline and auto-attack whoever is closest, using your range to apply poison without overcommitting. Never chase kills deep into enemy territory because Teemo has no reliable escape tool once his Flash is down. If an assassin or diver targets you, kite backward through your pre-placed mushrooms while auto-attacking between steps.
Save Blinding Dart for when an auto-attacker tries to all-in you or your carry, as the blind completely negates their damage for its duration. Using it on a tank or mage at the start of a fight wastes the blind effect since they do not rely on basic attacks. If no physical damage dealer is threatening you, use it to last-hit a low-HP target or harass a squishy enemy.
Activate Move Quick when you need to reposition during a fight or escape a bad engagement, but do not spam it on cooldown. The passive speed helps you roam between lanes or dodge skillshots, while the active burst of speed saves you from ganks or sudden engages. Try to save the active for moments when you actually need the extra mobility to survive.
Place mushrooms in the narrow bridges and chokepoints where enemies must walk to engage or retreat, forcing them to take damage or take bad paths. In Mayhem's constant fighting, put some mushrooms directly in the frontline skirmish area to punish melee champions trying to engage. Keep a few mushrooms behind your team to slow any divers or flankers trying to reach your backline.
Liandry's Torment is your highest priority item because the burn damage synergizes with your poison and mushroom ticks for massive sustained damage. Follow up with ability power items that offer cooldown reduction so you can place mushrooms more frequently. If the enemy team has heavy magic damage, consider an early Banshee's Veil or Mercury Treads to survive burst.
Liandry's Torment and Void Staff are essential against tanky opponents who stack magic resistance, as they shred through defensive builds over time. Your mushrooms apply the burn repeatedly, so even tanks taking constant steps through your zone will eventually drop low. Focus on wearing them down before your team commits to a full fight rather than trying to burst them.
Do not panic when enemies reveal your mushrooms because the cooldown is short in Mayhem and you can quickly replace them. Place mushrooms in brush or just behind minion waves where sweepers may not catch them immediately. Even revealed mushrooms act as zone warnings, so enemies still have to respect the area or take free damage walking through.
Watch for enemies winding up Snowball and sidestep immediately, then punish their landing spot with a mushroom and Blinding Dart if they are an auto-attacker. Never stand still in one spot because good players will target predictable positioning with Snowball into burst combos. If you get hit, instantly drop a mushroom at your feet and kite backward while your team collapses.
Long-range poke mages like Xerath and Ziggs can kill you before you ever get in auto-attack range, making the lane miserable. Hard engage champions like Malphite or Leona can lock you down and burst you before you escape, especially if they have Flash or Snowball ready. Ban or dodge these matchups when possible, and play extremely safe if you face them.
Mayhem's accelerated pace and constant teamfighting make split pushing risky and usually not worth losing your team's damage in the main fight. Your mushrooms provide more value when placed around your team's position to control the engagement area. Only push a side wave if your team has a clear numbers advantage or the enemy is dead.
Auto-attack different targets in a teamfight to spread your passive poison, weakening the entire enemy team over time rather than focusing one person. Your mushrooms apply poison to everyone who walks through, so layer them in high-traffic areas to keep the damage ticking on multiple enemies. Combine this with Liandry's burn and watch health bars melt even when you are not directly attacking.
If you roll an augment that lets you detonate mushrooms remotely or increases their explosion radius, change your placement strategy to cluster them together. Detonate when multiple enemies are on top of a mushroom for maximum burst, rather than letting them trigger passively. This turns Teemo from a zoning pest into a burst threat that enemies cannot ignore.
