Combos

Recursion + Infinite Recursion

Recursion provides a strong base of 60 ability haste, and Infinite Recursion adds another 60 while scaling with takedowns. This combination enables near-cap ability haste early, allowing abilities to be cast extremely frequently in ARAM's constant teamfights. The stacking nature of Infinite Recursion means the synergy becomes even more powerful as the game progresses.

Recursion + Ultimate Awakening

Recursion's 60 ability haste accelerates all basic abilities, while Ultimate Awakening resets them on ultimate cast and grants 300 basic ability haste for 15 seconds. Together, these create windows of near-instant ability cooldowns, transforming any champion into a spell-spamming powerhouse during critical teamfight moments when the ultimate is deployed.

Recursion + Mystic Punch

Recursion reduces ability cooldowns directly, while Mystic Punch reduces remaining cooldowns by 1.25 seconds on each basic attack. This dual reduction system allows abilities to come off cooldown through both time and attacks, enabling casters with attack speed access to maintain near-permanent ability uptime during extended fights.

Recursion's 60 ability haste combines with Back to Basics' additional 70 ability haste and 35% increased ability damage. Though the ultimate is sealed, the total of 130 ability haste fundamentally transforms basic ability champions, allowing them to spam their core abilities with dramatically increased damage output in ARAM's confined space.

Recursion + Bread And Butter

Recursion grants 60 ability haste across all abilities, while Bread And Butter adds 100 ability haste specifically to the champion's Q ability. This focused investment allows the primary damage or utility spell to reach extreme cooldown reduction, enabling champions reliant on their Q to cast it nearly twice as often.

Infinite Recursion grants 60 ability haste and scales with takedowns, making the flat 60 ability haste from Recursion completely redundant. Taking both wastes an augment slot since the base effects are identical. Avoid this pairing because you gain no additional benefit from the second copy of the same stat bonus.

Avoid Recursion + Bread And Butter

Bread And Butter grants 100 ability haste specifically to your Q ability, which heavily overlaps with the general 60 ability haste from Recursion. This is a low-value pairing because ability haste has diminishing returns and you are investing two augments into the same stat category for one ability.
