The best fights start when enemies have already used a dash, shield, peel spell, or long-range crowd control on someone else. Going first into five ready champions may still land crowd control, but the team can be too far back to convert it. Amumu should ping before committing, step in and out of fog or minion cover, and make enemies waste something before spending his main engage. Amumu gets more value when locking multiple champions in place rather than chasing low-health targets. If a squishy carry stands alone with their team far behind, Amumu can take that pick. When three enemies group near the wave, he should wait for them to step forward together and punish the stack. Snowball should be used to hide engage angles, thrown when enemies focus on clearing the wave or hitting a frontliner. If it lands on a priority target, Amumu should wait a short moment before reactivating so his team can move up.
