Avoid Upgrade Sheen + Slow and Steady

Slow and Steady sets base attack speed to a static value and prevents all attack speed bonuses from functioning. Spellblade requires basic attacks to trigger, and being locked at 0.625 attack rate severely limits how often you can proc the empowered effect, making the upgrade significantly less valuable.

Avoid Upgrade Sheen + Back to Basics

Back to Basics seals your ultimate ability permanently, which is a massive trade-off. While it grants ability haste and damage, Spellblade builds typically want full kit access for weaving abilities between auto-attacks, and losing an ultimate severely limits playmaking potential for a playstyle that doesn't maximize Spellblade triggers.

Avoid Upgrade Sheen + Glass Cannon
