Passive: Unseen Threat
Unseen Threat empowers your next auto-attack after you leave enemy vision or activate your ultimate. It applies a slow and deals bonus magic damage. In Mayhem, where brush usage and ability spam are frequent, this passive is constantly refreshing.
Use the brush aggressively to reset the passive. Duck in and out of bushes between trades to keep the bonus damage ready. The slow is critical for sticking to slippery targets, so try to open fights with an empowered auto whenever possible. In early fights, use the brush to poke, reset, and poke again. In teamfights, save the empowered auto for a priority target or to peel for yourself if divers engage on you.
Do not waste the empowered auto on a full-health tank if a squishy target is nearby. The slow is your primary tool to close gaps or escape, so using it carelessly on a target you cannot kill leaves you vulnerable to kiting. Leveling priority is low; the passive scales with levels, but you do not prioritize it over abilities.
Q: Taste Their Fear
Taste Their Fear is your primary damage tool. It deals physical damage to a single target. If the target is isolated, the damage increases significantly, and the cooldown is partially refunded. Mayhem’s chaos often separates enemies, creating isolation opportunities that are rarer in standard ARAM.
Always look for isolated targets. Enemies chasing your teammates, wandering too far from their healers, or getting poked down often end up isolated. Use Q to last-hit minions or poke, but save it for all-ins when you see the isolation indicator. In early fights, poke isolated enemies to force them back. In teamfights, wait for the frontline to engage, then dive the backline where isolation is more likely.
Do not waste Q on targets surrounded by allies or minions. The damage drop-off is massive. If you Q a non-isolated target in a fight, you lose your burst window. Punishment for wasting Q is severe: you lose your main damage source, and your kill pressure vanishes until it comes back. Leveling priority is max first for damage and cooldown reduction.
W: Void Spike
Void Spike fires exploding spikes that deal physical damage and heal you if you are in the explosion radius. Evolution increases the number of spikes and adds a slow. In Mayhem, the sustain from W is vital for surviving poke and staying in the fight.
Use W to poke, heal, and check bushes. The range is decent, so use it to chip away at enemies before committing. If you evolve W, the slow helps you chase or escape. In early fights, use W to sustain through poke and soften up the enemy team. In teamfights, fire W into clusters of enemies to maximize healing and damage, but do not rely on it for burst.
Do not waste W when you are at full health and out of range to hit enemies. The cooldown is long enough that missing it costs you sustain. Punishment for wasting W is losing your primary healing tool, which forces you to play passively or back off. Leveling priority is second or third depending on whether you need sustain or mobility.
E: Leap
Leap is your engage and escape tool. You jump to a target location, dealing physical damage on landing. Evolution resets the cooldown on kills and assists. In Mayhem, Leap is your ticket to mayhem—jump in, kill, reset, and jump again.
Use Leap to engage on isolated targets, escape bad fights, or reposition. The reset mechanic is the key to your snowball. In early fights, play cautiously; do not leap into the enemy team without a clear exit plan. In teamfights, wait for an enemy to get low, then leap in to secure the kill and reset. Use the reset to chain kills or escape if the fight turns.
Do not waste Leap to engage if you cannot secure a kill or have no backup. Jumping in and dying without a reset is the fastest way to lose pressure. Punishment for wasting Leap is being stuck in the enemy team with no escape. Leveling priority is usually last, though some players take a point early for mobility.
R: Void Assault
Void Assault allows you to enter stealth, gain movement speed, and ignore unit collision. Each activation lasts a short time, and you can cast it multiple times within a window. Evolution adds extra casts and reduces damage taken while stealthed. In Mayhem, this is your tool to confuse enemies, reposition, and set up isolations.
Use R to engage, dodge key abilities, or reset your passive. The stealth lets you approach isolated targets unseen, or escape when focused. In early fights, use R to dodge high-damage abilities or to close the gap on a poke-heavy enemy. In teamfights, save R for the moment you commit to a dive or when the enemy turns their focus on you. The damage reduction from evolution can save you in tight spots.
Do not waste R just to move faster or for no clear purpose. The cooldown is long, and using it carelessly leaves you with no defensive option when the enemy collapses. Punishment for wasting R is getting caught out, focused down, or failing to secure a kill because you lacked the stealth to reposition. Leveling priority is standard: unlock at 6, 11, and 16.
Evolution Priority
- First Evolution (Level 6): Q is the standard choice for burst and isolation damage. Choose W if you need sustain and poke, or E if your team has setup and you want reset potential early.
- Second Evolution (Level 11): E is the default for reset potential in teamfights. If you already took E, consider W for utility or R for survivability.
- Third Evolution (Level 16): R for survivability and extra stealth, or W if you skipped it and need the slow. Q evolution is rarely needed third unless you are snowballing hard.
General Playstyle in Mayhem
Play like an opportunistic hunter. Wait for enemies to separate, then dive the isolated target. Use brush and stealth to reset your passive and confuse enemies. Do not front-line; let your team engage, then clean up. In early fights, focus on poke and sustain. In teamfights, wait for the right moment to leap in, secure a kill, and reset. Punish enemies who overextend or chase too far from their team. If you waste your cooldowns, back off and wait for them to come back up before re-engaging.
