Team Synergy
Lissandra operates as a dive initiator and zone-control mage in Mayhem. She wants teammates who can capitalize on her engage or cover her while she cooldown cycles. Her best games happen when she has a frontline to absorb initial poke, or a follow-up threat that turns her single-target lockdown into a team wipe.
Core Synergy Needs
- Hard Engage Follow-Up: Lissandra’s E-R combo commits her deep. She needs teammates who can instantly layer damage or crowd control on her target.
- Anti-Poke Sustain: Before level 6, she struggles against long-range poke. Healing, shielding, or a dedicated tank helps her reach her power spike.
- Disengage Support: If her engage fails, she has no escape tool. A teammate with peel prevents her from getting collapsed on after her Zhonya’s ends.
Top Teammate Synergies
-
Malphite (High Value)
Synergy Mechanism: Unstoppable force meets point-and-click lockdown. Malphite’s R forces the enemy team to group, which sets up perfect geometry for Lissandra’s W and R.
Combo: Malphite engages with R on the backline. Lissandra follows instantly with E into the knock-up zone, casting R on the primary carry while W roots everyone displaced by the impact.
Best Scenario: The enemy team is hiding behind minions or playing near their tower. Malphite bypasses the frontline, and Lissandra traps the entire squad in a frozen death ball.
Enemy Answer: Flash or instant disengage tools like Gragas R can split the combo. Cleanse or QSS on the target can break Lissandra’s stun chain before Malphite lands.
Failure Risk: If Malphite engages too early while Lissandra is out of E range, she cannot follow up, leaving him to die alone.
Recovery: Lissandra should hold her R for self-peel if Malphite whiffs. She creates a zone around his body to prevent enemies from chasing him down. -
Yasuo (High Value)
Synergy Mechanism: Airborne synergy. Lissandra’s W and R do not knock up, but her E-R engage puts targets in a stationary position for Yasuo to land a guaranteed R on multiple people if he has a knock-up source from another ally, or simply allows him to dash through the fight freely while enemies are rooted.
Combo: Lissandra E-Rs the priority target. Yasuo uses the frozen target as a dash anchor, weaving damage while they cannot move. If Yasuo has a tornado ready, he R’s immediately after Lissandra’s stun ends to extend the disable chain.
Best Scenario: Tight corridors in ARAM where enemies cannot spread out. Lissandra’s zone control forces them into Yasuo’s windwall and steel tempest range.
Enemy Answer: Hard CC on Yasuo the moment he goes in. If they burst him down during the engage, Lissandra is left alone in the enemy backline.
Failure Risk: Yasuo gets caught out before Lissandra has her cooldowns. He dies, and she has no follow-up for her engage.
Recovery: Lissandra uses Zhonya’s immediately after her R burst. This stalls for Yasuo’s respawn or for her team to collapse, buying time in the chaos. -
Amumu (Strong Value)
Synergy Mechanism: Double ultimate lockdown. Amumu’s R creates a massive snare field, and Lissandra’s R adds a point-and-click stun on top of it. This creates an inescapable kill zone.
Combo: Amumu lands a long-range Q-R engage. Lissandra E’s in during the bandage toss, then R’s the highest damage threat inside Amumu’s snare. She follows with W to root anyone who might break free.
Best Scenario: Enemies are grouped for a siege. The double AoE disable guarantees a team wipe if the team has damage behind it.
Enemy Answer: Edge-guarding. Long-range poke forces Amumu low before he can engage. QSS or Cleanse breaks the stun chain early enough to flash away.
Failure Risk: Amumu misses Q and has no R. Lissandra engages alone and gets focused down before her team arrives.
Recovery: Lissandra self-casts R and Zhonya’s in the middle of the enemy team. This stalling tactic allows Amumu to get a second Q attempt or for the rest of the team to reposition. -
Miss Fortune (Strong Value)
Synergy Mechanism: Static target execution. Lissandra’s R holds a target perfectly still in a small area. Miss Fortune’s R can fully channel on a stationary cluster.
Combo: Lissandra E-Rs the frontline or a mispositioned carry. Miss Fortune immediately channels Bullet Time on the trapped target. The slow from Lissandra’s kit makes escaping the cone nearly impossible.
Best Scenario: Lissandra catches someone near a wall or in a narrow passage. The geometry forces the enemy team to either scatter and abandon the caught ally or eat the full Bullet Time.
Enemy Answer: Hard engage on Miss Fortune. If Lissandra is deep in the enemy team, she cannot peel for her own marksman.
Failure Risk: Miss Fortune gets interrupted or dies before channeling. Lissandra’s damage alone is often not enough to kill a tanky frontline.
Recovery: Lissandra falls back to her own backline after the initial burst. She uses W and remaining cooldowns to peel divers off Miss Fortune. -
Sona (Situational Value)
Synergy Mechanism: Sustain and speed. Sona keeps Lissandra healthy through the early poke phase, ensuring she reaches level 6 with enough HP to engage. Her E provides the movement speed needed to close the gap for a flash-R or E-R combo.
Combo: Sona speeds up Lissandra. Lissandra uses the momentum to land a long-range E or flash-R. Sona follows with her own R to layer crowd control on the same target or catch stragglers.
Best Scenario: Against heavy poke compositions where Lissandra would otherwise be forced to base repeatedly. Sona’s healing offsets the damage, keeping Lissandra on the map for the engage window.
Enemy Answer: Anti-heal. If the enemy builds early Executioner’s Calling, Sona’s sustain drops off, and Lissandra remains vulnerable to poke.
Failure Risk: Sona gets caught by a hook or burst. Lissandra loses her sustain engine and speed boost, making her engage predictable and slow.
Recovery: Lissandra plays more conservatively, using her Q for wave clear rather than poke. She waits for Sona to respawn or for a clear misposition to engage.
