Targets Teemo Punishes

Teemo excels against champions who lack reliable gap-closers or who need to stand still to function. In Mayhem, where damage numbers are high and cooldowns are short, his mushrooms turn chokepoints into death zones for anyone who cannot cleanse or dash through them.

  • Ashe: She has no dash to bypass mushroom fields and her passive slow makes it even harder to escape once she triggers a trap. Teemo can blind her when she tries to volley-spam, negating her auto-attack damage and forcing her to play further back. If she engages with her ultimate, side-step the crystal arrow and immediately reposition; her lack of mobility tools means she dies the moment she steps on two mushrooms.
  • Varus: He relies on charging Piercing Arrow and landing long-range pokes, but Teemo's Move Quick lets him sidestep the telegraphed shots. The blind shuts down Varus's Blighted Quiver auto-attacks, removing his primary damage source. When Varus tries to chain his ultimate, flash or dash out of the tether range before the suppression spreads, then punish his immobility with mushrooms placed directly under his feet.
  • Kog'Maw: Without a dash, Kog'Maw has no way to navigate around mushroom clusters without taking heavy damage. Teemo's blind completely neutralizes his Living Artillery spam window, forcing Kog'Maw to either wait out the blind or attack into miss chance. If Kog'Maw dies and triggers Icathian Surprise, keep moving—do not stand still or recall in the explosion radius.
  • Brand: Brand wants to stand at mid-range and combo his abilities, but Teemo can poke from outside his effective range using mushrooms. Brand has no mobility to dodge the constant trap damage, and his health pool is low enough that sustained poison ticks force him to back or die. When Brand winds up Sear or Pillar of Flame, use Move Quick to reposition before he can land the stun.
  • Veigar: The cage is dangerous, but Teemo can place mushrooms outside the perimeter before Veigar ever casts it. Veigar's lack of dash means he has to walk through traps to close distance, taking damage the entire time. If you get caught in Event Horizon, do not panic-flash through the wall—wait for the stun to end, then blind him before he can land a second rotation.

Threats That Punish Teemo

Teemo struggles against champions who can close the gap instantly, burst him before he kites, or reveal and delete him from range. His low health pool means one mistake against these picks usually results in death.

  • Syndra: She can knock Teemo out of stealth with Scatter the Weak and burst him down before he has time to react. The range on her ultimate exceeds his effective kite distance, meaning he cannot safely poke without risking a quick death. When facing Syndra, stay behind minions to block Dark Sphere harass and save your movement speed boost for dodging her stun combo rather than chasing.
  • Zed: His shadow slash combo reaches Teemo before mushrooms can zone him effectively. Zed can ult through trap fields, burst Teemo, and return to his shadow before the poison ticks finish him. Save your Quicksilver or defensive augment for his death mark pop—do not blow it on minor crowd control. Blind does not stop his abilities, only his auto-attacks, so the duel heavily favors Zed.
  • Nidalee: Her spears outrange Teemo's poke, and one landed Javelin Toss in Mayhem mode chunks half his health. In cougar form, she can pounce over mushroom fields and execute him before he escapes. Track her trap placement because her Bushwhack reveals Teemo in stealth, removing his escape option. Play near tower and avoid extended chases through unwarded brush.
  • LeBlanc: She can dash in, burst, and dash out before Teemo places a single meaningful mushroom. The chain prevents kiting, and her burst window is faster than his blind reaction time. Do not try to trade with her—focus on shoving the wave and staying under tower. If she wastes her distortion, you have a brief window to punish her cooldowns, but the margin is thin.
  • Lee Sin: Sonic Wave reveals Teemo in stealth, and his kick can launch Teemo into the enemy team. He can safeguard to allies or minions to bypass mushroom zones entirely. When you see him land a Q, immediately prepare to flash the follow-up kick or die. Blind only affects his auto-attacks, not his ability damage, so dueling him is rarely winning.

Understanding these matchups determines whether Teemo controls the lane or feeds it. Against immobile poke champions, expand your trap network and force them to walk into damage. Against assassins and burst mages, play conservatively, prioritize survival augments, and accept that your value comes from area denial rather than direct dueling.
