Team Synergy for Kled
Kled is a high-tempo engage engine in Mayhem ARAM. He wants to start fights, not poke or siege. His ultimate, Chaaaaaaaarge!!!, creates a massive speed zone that forces the enemy team to either fight or flee. Because Mayhem amplifies damage and reduces cooldowns, Kled excels when he has teammates who can instantly follow up his call or cover him during his dismounted vulnerability. He provides a unique blend of initiation, sustained skirmishing, and tower-pushing pressure, but he lacks reliable crowd control outside of his Q pull and R knockback. He needs teammates who bring hard CC, burst damage, or shields to keep him mounted and fighting.
Core Team Functions Kled Needs
- Hard Crowd Control: Kled’s Q is a skillshot tether, and his R is movement-based. He struggles against mobile enemies who can dash out of his Bear Trap. He needs teammates with point-and-click stuns, roots, or knockups to lock targets down so he can land his full combo.
- Burst Damage: Kled excels at getting to the target, but in Mayhem, enemies recover health or shield rapidly. He needs high-damage partners to delete targets during the brief window he creates.
- Disengage or Reset Support: When Kled dismounts, he becomes a squishy yordle with no dash. He needs allies who can peel for him or provide shields/heals until he remounts.
Top Teammate Synergies
-
Sion (High Value)
Synergy Mechanism: This is the "unstoppable train" composition. Sion’s R and Kled’s R stack movement speed and engage range. Both champions want to charge into the enemy backline simultaneously, creating a chaotic frontline that is nearly impossible to peel.
Combo: Kled presses R to initiate the charge path. As Kled closes the gap, Sion activates his own R to follow the same lane or cut off an escape angle. The enemy team gets hit by a massive speed-boosted Sion and a shielded Kled at the same time.
Best Scenario: Engaging on immobile poke comps that rely on spacing. The combined speed makes it impossible for champions like Xerath or Ziggs to land skillshots before they are run over.
Enemy Answer: Hard disengage tools like Gragas R or Janna R can separate the two. Anivia wall or Jarvan IV R can zone Sion off the path.
Failure Risk: If Sion misses his R or gets CC’d early, Kled is left solo in the enemy team. Kled might dismount quickly without Sion’s body blocking damage.
Recovery: Sion enters zombie mode to continue the fight. Kled must play passively, using his pocket pistol to farm courage and remount while Sion distracts the enemy.
-
Orianna (High Value)
Synergy Mechanism: The classic "ball delivery service." Kled is an aggressive, fast-moving initiator who can carry the ball into the heart of the enemy team instantly. Orianna provides the shield Kled needs to stay mounted and the burst to finish targets.
Combo: Orianna places the ball on Kled before the fight. Kled uses R to charge in. When Kled reaches the enemy cluster, Orianna casts Command: Shockwave. The speed from Kled’s R makes the ball’s arrival sudden and difficult to dodge.
Best Scenario: Fighting against grouped-up teams that try to stack crowd control. The Shockwave interrupts their combo and sets up Kled’s W four-auto attack burst.
Enemy Answer: Quick reaction shields or Zhonya’s Hourglass can mitigate the Shockwave burst. Enemies with untargetability like Elise or Vladimir can dodge the initial burst.
Failure Risk: If Kled gets peeled or dismounted before he reaches the center, the ball falls short or Orianna wastes her ultimate on a frontline tank.
Recovery: Orianna uses her W to speed Kled up if he dismounts, helping him escape or chase to remount. She can also use her E shield to protect him during the courage-farming phase.
-
Yasuo (High Value)
Synergy Mechanism: Airborne interaction. Kled’s R does not knock up, but his aggressive dash and skirmish style create the perfect chaos for Yasuo. While Kled does not directly set up Yasuo’s R with a knockup, his Q pull and general disruption force enemies to burn mobility, making them easy targets for Yasuo’s whirlwind. In Mayhem, the frequent fighting means Yasuo gets his dash resets constantly.
Combo: Kled charges in to draw focus fire. He uses Q to pull a key target. If Yasuo lands a whirlwind on the displaced enemies, he ults. Alternatively, Kled acts as the meatshield while Yasuo dashes through the enemy team, applying constant damage and windwalling incoming poke.
Best Scenario: Against heavy projectile comps. Yasuo’s Windwall protects Kled during his dismounted phase, which is his biggest weakness. Kled engages, and Yasuo cleans up.
Enemy Answer: Point-and-click CC that ignores Windwall. Champions like Lissandra or Malzahar can suppress Yasuo instantly, leaving Kled without his damage follow-up.
Failure Risk: Kled engages too deep, and Yasuo cannot dash to him in time. The team gets split, and Kled dies before Yasuo enters the fight.
Recovery: Yasuo uses Windwall to block lethal poke aimed at a dismounted Kled. Kled uses his E to dash back toward Yasuo for safety if the fight goes south.
-
Leona (Medium-High Value)
Synergy Mechanism: Chain CC lockdown. Kled lacks hard lockdown on a single target. Leona fills that gap with point-and-click stuns. Together, they create a "kill zone" where one target is guaranteed to die.
Combo: Kled R initiates. Leona uses her E-Q combo on the priority target Kled is running at. Kled lands his Q easily on a stunned target. Leona follows with R to lock down the rest of the team while Kled procs his W burst.
Best Scenario: Picking off slippery carries like Ezreal or Ahri. Leona’s R is a great setup tool if Kled’s R is down, allowing Kled to re-engage with E.
Enemy Answer: Cleanse or QSS on the target. Supports with instant peel like Braum or Poppy can stop Leona’s engage, leaving Kled frustrated.
Failure Risk: Both go in and fail to kill the target. They have no real escape. If the enemy survives the burst, Kled and Leona get kited and die.
Recovery: Leona stays on the target to body block. Kled dismounts and uses the movement speed from Skaarl’s departure to run away, hoping Leona’s passive procs finish the job.
-
Lulu (Medium Value)
Synergy Mechanism: Anti-dismount insurance. Lulu is the best support for keeping Kled mounted. Her Whimsy (W) stops enemies from attacking, and her Help, Pix! (E) gives Kled a shield. Her ultimate, Wild Growth, gives Kled instant health and a knockup, which is critical when his health bar drops low.
Combo: Kled engages. As soon as he takes focus fire, Lulu ults him. The health boost often prevents the dismount entirely or delays it long enough for Kled to kill someone. Lulu uses W on the biggest threat to Kled, neutralizing their damage.
Best Scenario: Against burst mages or assassins who try to delete Kled instantly. Lulu’s utility turns Kled into an unkillable raid boss.
Enemy Answer: Anti-shield mechanics like Seraphine or items that apply Grievous Wounds early. Heavy AoE damage that hits Lulu as well, forcing her to use spells defensively.
Failure Risk: Lulu gets caught or poked down before the engage. If Lulu is dead or zoned, Kled has no safety net and will likely dismount and die.
Recovery: If Kled dismounts, Lulu speeds him up with W (on an ally or Kled) to help him escape. Kled plays the patience game, farming courage behind Lulu’s polymorph threat.
Summary
Kled thrives with teammates who amplify his "go-in" mentality or cover his "get-out" desperation. Sion and Orianna turn his engage into a team-wiping nuke. Yasuo and Leona provide the damage and lockdown to secure kills. Lulu acts as the safety harness that keeps him fighting longer than he should. Avoid pairing Kled with passive poke mages or enchanters who want to sit back; Kled creates a speed lane, and his team must be ready to drive down it with him.
