Early Game: Levels 1–6

Start near the front line to contest the first wave brush. Pyke wants to hook an enemy into your team or into a minion wave for an early health advantage. Land a single Q to force a potion or summoner spell. If you miss, back off immediately and wait for the next cooldown rather than forcing a bad trade.

Use W to reset vision and move up for poke. The speed lets you reposition after a hook attempt or dodge enemy skillshots. Do not sit in stealth for too long; the mana drain is real, and you need resources for the next fight.

Snowball is your primary engage tool early. Mark a target, wait for them to use a key cooldown, then dash in and follow with E for a stun. If the enemy team has heavy poke, save Snowball to dodge or close the gap when they overextend.

  • Position: Front-left or front-right of the wave, near brush.
  • Rhythm: Fish for hooks, short trade with E, disengage with W.
  • Snowball: Engage on overextended squishies or dodge major burst.
  • Augments: Prioritize damage, cooldown reduction, or execute threshold increases if available.
  • Push or Stall: Push if you land hooks and your team follows up. Stall if the enemy has stronger early wave clear.
  • Ahead: Zone enemies off the wave, look for aggressive Snowball engages.
  • Behind: Play for hooks under tower, let the wave come to you.
  • Next Move: Hit level 6 first for execute pressure.

Mid Game: Levels 7–11

Once you have R, every low-health enemy is a potential reset. Communicate with your team. You want to damage targets to around 30–40% health, then flash or Snowball in for the ult. A successful execute resets your ultimate and gives bonus gold to an ally, which accelerates your team's item power spikes.

Your E stun becomes a critical tool for setting up kills or peeling for your carries. In Mayhem, where damage is high, a well-timed stun can stop an assassin's burst. Use W to reposition after a fight starts, not just to engage. The healing from Passive helps you recover from chip damage, but it does not save you from burst.

Group with your damage dealers. Pyke is not a split pusher. Your job is to create openings with Q and secure resets with R. If you see an enemy out of position, hook them into your team. If they are playing safe, look for a flank with W and Snowball.

  • Position: Slightly off to the side, looking for angles.
  • Rhythm: Poke with Q, engage with Snowball/E, execute with R.
  • Snowball: Use to gap-close for R or to escape after diving.
  • Augments: Look for survivability or additional execute damage.
  • Push or Stall: Push with your team after a kill, take towers with the gold lead.
  • Ahead: Force fights, dive towers with R resets, snowball the gold lead.
  • Behind: Fish for hooks on carries, play for picks, do not force bad dives.
  • Next Move: Secure major augment upgrades, prepare for late-game team fights.

Late Game: Levels 12+

One mistake ends the game. Your margin for error is small. Do not facecheck. Use W to scout dangerous areas or to set up a flank. A single hook on a carry can win the game. A missed hook can leave your team vulnerable to a counter-engage.

R is your win condition. Wait for your team to damage enemies before you commit. Do not ult a full-health target; you will likely die for nothing. Look for the execute threshold. If multiple enemies are low, a chain of R resets can wipe an entire team in seconds.

Protect your own carries if needed. Use E to stun divers. Use Q to peel melee attackers off your back line. You are not just an assassin; you are a disruption tool. If the enemy team is grouped, look for a multi-man E stun through them, then back off and wait for cooldowns.

  • Position: Flank angles or just behind your front line, ready to dive.
  • Rhythm: Wait for damage, then execute. Reset and repeat.
  • Snowball: Save for the final gap-close to R or to escape a collapsed fight.
  • Augments: Focus on execute range, damage, or cooldowns for more R attempts.
  • Push or Stall: Push as a group after a successful pick. Do not siege without vision.
  • Ahead: Ward enemy jungle, catch people rotating, force 5v4 fights.
  • Behind: Defend under tower, look for a miracle hook or a counter-engage E.
  • Next Move: End the game on a successful team wipe.
