Team Synergy for Elise

Elise operates as a dive execute engine in Mayhem ARAM. She wants to land a long-range Cocoon, burst a target to low health, and finish with Venomous Bite in spider form. Because her human form is squishy and her spider form forces her into melee range, she relies heavily on teammates who can either set up her stun or follow up on it with immediate damage. She does not function well as the primary engage tool if the enemy has instant crowd control. She needs a frontline presence to distract attention and a reliable damage source to help her secure resets.

Core Team Functions Elise Needs

  • Hard Engage or Catch Tool: Elise’s Cocoon is a skillshot with travel time. She struggles against mobile comps that dodge. A teammate with point-and-click CC or a massive AoE lockdown gives her a guaranteed window to unload her full combo.
  • Follow-Up Burst: Elise deals high burst but can be kited if the target survives the initial rotation. She needs allies who can dump damage instantly during a stun duration to trigger her execute threshold.
  • Peel or Distraction: When she goes spider form, she is inside the enemy team. If she gets stunned or burst down immediately, she provides zero value. She needs a tank or diver to draw cooldowns away from her.

Top Teammate Synergies

1. Yasuo

Synergy Mechanism: Yasuo provides a massive AoE knockup and a windwall that blocks enemy retaliation. Elise provides the pick potential to start fights or the burst to clean up after Yasuo lands his knockup.

Key Combo: Elise lands a max-range Cocoon on a priority target. Yasuo instantly dashes through a minion to reach them, or uses his own tornado to knock up additional enemies. If Elise Repels onto the target, Yasuo follows with Last Breath, keeping them suspended while Elise bites.

Best Scenario: The enemy team is grouped in a line or cluster. Elise catches a squishy carry with Cocoon. Yasuo ults, suspending the target and anyone nearby. Elise uses the suspension time to safely descend in spider form and execute the trapped target.

Enemy Answer: Smart enemies will spread out to avoid the multi-man Yasuo ult. They may also hold hard CC like instant stuns or silences to stop Yasuo’s dash flow or Elise’s descent.

Failure Risk: If Yasuo engages too early without Elise’s damage backup, he dies instantly. If Elise dives before Yasuo creates a windwall, she gets deleted by enemy projectile burst.

Recovery: If the engage fails, Elise should use Rappel to stall on the ceiling, waiting for her cooldowns or for Yasuo to windwall enemy burst. She can then drop on a low-health target for a reset escape.

2. Malphite

Synergy Mechanism: Malphite offers the reliable, instant engage that Elise lacks. His Unstoppable Force guarantees a knockup, removing the need for Elise to land a risky skillshot to start a fight.

Key Combo: Malphite flashes or uses Unstoppable Force onto the enemy backline. As targets are knocked up, Elise follows immediately with a human-form Neurotoxin and Venomous Bite on the lowest health target. She can also save Cocoon for the enemy trying to flash away after the knockup ends.

Best Scenario: The enemy team has immobile carries or is standing near a wall. Malphite ults, hitting three or more targets. Elise dives the most isolated target, securing a kill and using the spiderling reset to chase the next victim.

Enemy Answer: Enemies with quick reaction times can flash the Malphite ult. If they dodge, Elise is left diving into the enemy team alone. Some teams also run Lulu or Janna, who can instant-polymorph or knock up Elise as she follows Malphite.

Failure Risk: Elise dives too deep after a Malphite ult that only hit the enemy tanks. She wastes her execute on a high-health target and gets collapsed on.

Recovery: Elise must save Rappel for the exit. If the Malphite engage goes bad, she should not commit spider form. She stays human, pokes with Neurotoxin, and uses Cocoon to disengage.

3. Morgana

Synergy Mechanism: Morgana provides the longest duration single-target lockdown in the game with Dark Binding. She also offers Black Shield, which protects Elise from instant crowd control during her dive.

Key Combo: Morgana lands a Dark Binding on a target. Elise walks up in human form, lands a guaranteed Cocoon on the same target, extending the lockdown chain. She then dumps her full combo while the target is unable to move or flash.

Best Scenario: The enemy has a squishy diver or assassin trying to flank. Morgana binds them, shields Elise, and Elise bursts them down before they can touch the backline. This is a potent pick tool in the early and mid-game.

Enemy Answer: Enemies with QSS or Gangplank’s Remove Scurvy can break the chain. A support with Mikael’s Blessing can cleanse the binding, ruining the setup. If the enemy team has heavy AoE magic damage, Black Shield pops instantly, leaving Elise vulnerable.

Failure Risk: Elise dives in expecting the shield to hold, but it breaks immediately. She gets stunned and killed before she can Repel.

Recovery: If the shield breaks early, Elise should abort the dive. She uses Rappel to reposition to a safer location, preferably back toward her tower or team, rather than dropping onto the enemy.

4. Orianna

Synergy Mechanism: Orianna offers a powerful zone-control ult that groups enemies together. This setup makes Elise’s skillshots nearly impossible to miss and allows her spider form splash damage to hit multiple targets.

Key Combo: Orianna places the ball on a tank ally or moves it into the enemy team. She casts Shockwave, pulling enemies to the center. Elise lands a guaranteed Cocoon on the pile, then uses Rappel to descend onto the clumped group, maximizing her spider damage.

Best Scenario: The enemy team is sieging a tower and standing close together. Orianna lands a multi-man Shockwave. Elise follows up with her full burst, potentially executing multiple low-health targets with the help of her spiderling attacks.

Enemy Answer: High-mobility champions like Ezreal or Tristana can jump out of the Shockwave radius before it pulls. Fast-acting supports can interrupt Orianna’s ult windup with a silence or knockup.

Failure Risk: Elise dives into the Shockwave zone but the enemy team has a bruiser comp like Darius or Garen. Instead of bursting them, Elise traps herself in melee range with enemies who want to be close to her.

Recovery: Elise should prioritize the squishiest target in the Shockwave clump. If she realizes the targets are too tanky, she uses Rappel to escape the center of the fight immediately after landing, using the height to spot a safer landing zone.

5. Pyke

Synergy Mechanism: Pyke shares gold on kills and provides a powerful execute threshold. Elise softens targets for Pyke’s ult, and Pyke’s stun setup makes Elise’s Cocoon easy to land. This creates a snowball-heavy lane.

Key Combo: Pyke lands a Bone Skewer hook or stuns with Phantom Undertow. Elise follows with Cocoon and her full burst. If the target survives with low health, Pyke finishes with Death from Below, sharing gold with Elise and resetting for the next target.

Best Scenario: The enemy team has low overall durability. Elise and Pyke chain CC on a single target, delete them, and use the reset mechanics to chain kills across the enemy team one by one.

Enemy Answer: Tanky teams ruin this synergy. If Elise and Pyke dump all cooldowns on a tank who survives with 30% health, they have no tools to deal with the enemy carries. Enemies with instant shields like Karma can also deny the Pyke execute threshold.

Failure Risk: Both champions are squishy and rely on snowballing. If they fall behind or fail to secure a kill early in a fight, they get run over by any bruiser or mage.

Recovery: If the burst fails, Pyke uses his W to go invisible and disengage. Elise uses Rappel to stall. They must reset and wait for cooldowns rather than forcing a bad fight. They cannot win extended brawls.
