Nidalee in Mayhem ARAM operates as a siege engine and a finisher, not a front-to-back teamfighter. She needs space to launch spears and a frontline to distract enemies while she hunts. If her team lacks hard crowd control or dedicated tanks, she struggles to land isolated spears or safely enter melee range. She functions best with teammates who can lock enemies down for free W resets or create chaotic engagements where she can flank in Cougar Form.
Core Team Needs
- Hard Crowd Control: Nidalee has no crowd control in Human Form and only a conditional root on her Cougar W. She relies on teammates to stop enemies from dodging her Javelin Toss or to hold them still for a full Cougar combo.
- Engage and Disengage: She cannot start fights effectively against competent opponents who dodge spears. She needs an initiator to force enemy cooldowns, allowing her to follow up safely.
- Peel for Reset: Once she goes in, Nidalee commits to a dive. She needs allies who can peel her out if a reset fails or if she gets collapsed on after a takedown.

Blitzcrank (High Value)
Synergy Mechanism: Blitzcrank creates the "caught out" scenario Nidalee dreams of. A successful Rocket Grab forces an enemy into Nidalee's optimal range without requiring her to land a max-range spear.
Combo: Blitzcrank lands a hook and knock-up. Nidalee immediately follows with a free Javelin Toss at point-blank range for massive damage, then transforms to Cougar Form to execute with a W-E-Q combo.
Best Scenario: The enemy team is grouped near a tower, and Blitzcrank grabs a squishy target. Nidalee deletes the target before the enemy team can react, creating a 4v5.
Enemy Answer: Enemies will stand behind minions to block hooks, reducing Blitzcrank's threat. They may also rush Mercury's Treads or buy QSS to break the grab chain.
Failure Risk: If Blitzcrank grabs a tank with high armor or a champion like Amumu, Nidalee wastes cooldowns on a target she cannot kill, leaving her vulnerable to a counter-engage.
Recovery: Nidalee must immediately disengage using Cougar W away from the tank. She resets her spacing and looks for a spear on a backline target while the tank is overextended. -
Morgana (High Value)
Synergy Mechanism: Morgana provides the lockdown Nidalee lacks. Her Dark Binding holds enemies still, guaranteeing a Javelin Toss hit. Black Shield protects Nidalee during her Cougar Form dive.
Combo: Morgana lands a long-range binding. Nidalee lands a spear on the rooted target, proccing the Hunt. She then uses the extended Cougar W range to gap-close and execute while the enemy is still rooted.
Best Scenario: An enemy champion attempts to siege or poke. Morgana snares them, and Nidalee uses the Hunt mark to jump over the frontline, assassinating the enemy carry.
Enemy Answer: Opponents will buy Quick Silver Sash or Mikael's Blessing to cleanse the binding. They may also spread out to avoid multi-target Tormented Shadow damage, making single-target bindings easier to land.
Failure Risk: If Nidalee dives too deep after the binding ends, she enters the enemy team alone. Morgana's shield may break, leaving Nidalee vulnerable to crowd control.
Recovery: Nidalele should save her Cougar W jumps for escape paths. If the kill is not secured, she jumps back toward Morgana to stay under Black Shield protection. -
Malphite (Strong Value)
Synergy Mechanism: Malphite forces enemy backlines to burn Flash or defensive cooldowns. His Unstoppable Force engage creates a clustered target zone for Nidalee spears or easy Cougar Form cleanup.
Combo: Malphite R hits multiple enemies. Nidalee throws a Javelin into the knock-up cluster. If a target is Hunted, she uses Cougar W to enter the fight and Q-smite low-health targets for resets.
Best Scenario: The enemy team is poking from a distance. Malphite engages on their backline. Nidalee follows the engage, using the chaos to land spears on displaced targets.
Enemy Answer: Enemies will hold Flash or dashes to dodge Malphite's R. They may also build Zhonya's Hourglass to stall time during the engage.
Failure Risk: If Malphite engages too deep without Nidalee in range to follow up, he dies alone. Nidalee may also get caught by stray crowd control if she enters the fight too late.
Recovery: Nidalee should hover at max spear range during the engage. If Malphite fails to hit priority targets, she stays in Human Form to poke and zone, saving Cougar Form for disengage. -
Ashe (Strong Value)
Synergy Mechanism: Ashe provides vision and long-range initiation. Her Crystal Arrow sets up guaranteed Javelin Toss hits from across the map, and her Hawkshot reveals enemies in bushes where Nidalee wants to trap.
Combo: Ashe fires an Enchanted Crystal Arrow at a distant enemy. Nidalee throws a Javelin Toss to intercept the stunned target. The double impact often kills or forces the enemy out of the fight.
Best Scenario: The enemy team is resetting or hiding in a bush. Ashe reveals them with Hawkshot, then arrows a stationary target. Nidalee snipes the revealed enemy.
Enemy Answer: Enemies will build Edge of Night or carry QSS to break the stun. They may also position behind tanks to block arrows.
Failure Risk: If Nidalee misses the spear on a stunned target, the kill opportunity is wasted. Ashe also lacks the peel to save Nidalee if she gets dived by assassins.
Recovery: Nidalee falls back to trap placement around the engage zone. She uses Bushwhack to zone off the enemy follow-up while Ashe provides slowing cover fire. -

Synergy Mechanism: Ornn provides a massive knock-up setup with his Call of the Forge God. He also upgrades Nidalee's items, giving her a mid-to-late-game stat spike that enhances her spear damage and sustain.
Combo: Ornn R knocks up the enemy team. Nidalee lands a Javelin Toss on a knocked-up target. She then dives in Cougar Form to clean up scattered enemies while Ornn shields the frontline.
Best Scenario: A prolonged siege where Ornn slowly chips away at enemy resistances. Nidalee benefits from the item upgrade power spike to break a stalemate.
Enemy Answer: Enemies will focus Ornn to stop the upgrade process. They may also disengage instantly when Ornn starts his ultimate, denying the setup.
Failure Risk: Ornn's engage is slower and more telegraphed than Malphite's. Nidalee may mistime her spear if the enemy flashes the Ornn knock-up.
Recovery: Nidalee uses her traps to cover Ornn's retreat. She stays in Human Form to heal allies with Primal Surge and poke until Ornn's cooldowns return.
