Early Game: Levels 1–6
Start positioned near your melee minions or just behind the front wave. Naafiri wants to set up a "den" where her packmates can safely spawn and reset. Do not stand too far back or your dogs will aggro incorrectly and die to tower or AoE poke. Your goal is to establish zone control with Q and let the packmates chip the enemy frontline while you farm.
Trading rhythm is simple: land a single Q to spawn a packmate, then look for an angle to auto-attack or land a second dagger. If the enemy steps up to last-hit, use the packmate to body-block skillshots or punish their positioning. Avoid extended fights early. Your damage is bursty, not sustained. If you miss Q, back off and wait for the pack to reset. Do not force engages without dogs on the field.
Snowball is your primary engage tool, but do not use it to start fights blindly. Use it to close distance after you have already spawned packmates. A good pattern is: land Q, confirm a packmate is active, then Snowball onto a squishy target, auto, and back out. If you are against heavy poke, save Snowball to dodge key abilities or reposition when dove.
Push or stall depends on matchup. Against low-range comps, push the wave under their tower and chip with Q. Against long-range or heavy CC, stall the wave in the middle and farm safely. Do not dive early unless your team has clear follow-up and the enemy used major cooldowns.
If ahead: zone the enemy off the wave, deny farm, and look for Snowball engages onto overextended targets. If behind: give up ground, farm with Q from max range, and avoid trading until you have your ultimate.
Next move: hit level 6 with full health and mana if possible. Look for a roam or coordinated engage with your ultimate ready.
Mid Game: Levels 7–11
Positioning shifts to the side bushes or the center of the bridge. You want angles where you can flank or catch isolated targets. Naafiri excels at punishing mispositioned squishies. Do not stand in the front line eating poke. Let your team initiate or bait cooldowns, then look for a clean entry.
Trading rhythm now revolves around your W and ultimate. Use Q to poke and maintain packmates. When you see a target isolated or low, activate your ultimate for the speed boost and packmate spawn, then use W to gap-close and burst. Your E is your escape or chase tool—do not waste it early in the fight. A common mistake is using E to engage and then having no way out.
Snowball becomes a setup for your ultimate combo. Snowball in, auto to mark, then W onto the target while your packmates converge. If the enemy has peel, wait for them to use CC before committing. You can also use Snowball to reposition mid-fight if your initial engage fails.
Augments that enhance burst, lethality, or cooldown reduction are ideal. If you have an augment that adds damage on isolated targets or executes, prioritize those. Defensive augments like shields or tenacity help if you are getting focused. Use augments to supplement your burst window, not to turn you into a tank.
Push or stall: push with your team when your ultimate is up. You want to force fights under their tower where you can dive isolated targets. If your ultimate is down, stall and poke with Q until it returns. Do not force bad fights without your key cooldowns.
If ahead: look for flanks, dive the backline, and force the enemy to collapse on you. Your burst should delete squishies. If behind: play for picks, wait for enemies to overextend, and use your burst to punish mistakes. Do not try to 1v1 bruisers or tanks.
Next move: group with your team, control the health relics, and set up for late-game teamfights where you can delete key targets.
Late Game: Levels 12+
Positioning is critical. Stay out of vision until the fight starts. Use side bushes or fog of war to hide your engage angle. Naafiri is an assassin; you are not a frontliner. Let your team initiate or bait cooldowns. Your job is to delete a high-priority target and get out.
Trading rhythm is all-in. You are not looking for poke; you are looking for a kill. Wait for the enemy carry to step slightly out of position or for their peel abilities to go on cooldown. Then, ultimate in, W onto the target, and dump your full combo. Use E to dodge CC or reposition after the burst. If the target survives, reset with your team and look for a cleanup.
Snowball is your gap-closer if your ultimate is down or if you need a quick engage. Use it to close the distance, then follow with W. Save your ultimate for the follow-up burst or to escape after the kill. If the enemy has heavy peel, consider using Snowball to bait out CC, then disengage and re-engage with your ultimate.
Augments should now be fully online. Prioritize those that amplify your burst, add execute damage, or provide survivability after a kill. If you have resets on takedowns, look for chain kills. If you have defensive augments, you can play slightly more aggressive, but still avoid tanking unnecessary damage.
Push or stall: push with your team when your key cooldowns are up. Force fights where you can isolate a target. If the enemy is turtling, poke with Q and look for a pick. Do not dive into their entire team alone. Patience wins late-game fights.
If ahead: force objectives, dive towers, and end the game. Your burst should be enough to kill anyone who steps up. If behind: play for picks, wait for the enemy to make a mistake, and use your burst to turn the fight. Do not try to teamfight head-on if you are behind; look for flanks and cleanup.
Next move: close out the game. Do not throw by overextending. Group, control objectives, and end on a clean pick.
