Qiyana operates as a burst-oriented engage tool in Mayhem ARAM. She offers strong crowd control and pick potential, but she lacks reliable sustained damage and often dies after going in. She needs teammates who can either layer crowd control on top of her Royal Deception or follow up on her element-based stuns before the enemy recovers.

- Hard Engage Follow-up: Qiyana creates openings with her ultimate, but she cannot kill tanks alone. She needs allies who can instantly dump damage into her targets.
- Zone Control: Her dash puts her in danger. Allies with persistent zone control like Anivia or Heimerdinger make it risky for enemies to collapse on her after she dives.
- Peel for Reset: If Qiyana fails to secure a kill, she is vulnerable. She pairs well with supports who can shield her or disengage so she can look for another angle.

Malphite (High Value)
Synergy Mechanism: Malphite provides the massive knock-up setup that Qiyana dreams of. When Malphite hits his ultimate, he groups enemies perfectly for Qiyana's Supreme Display of Talent, creating a layered stun lock that often wipes an entire team instantly.
Best Scenario: Malphite engages on a grouped enemy team under their tower. Qiyana follows immediately with her own ultimate to chain the crowd control, securing multiple assists or kills.
Enemy Answer: The enemy team can itemize heavily for magic resistance or buy Zhonya's Hourglass to stall the burst. A well-timed Lulu ultimate can also knock Malphite away before he lands.
Failure Risk: If Malphite misses his engage, Qiyana is left without a setup tool. She cannot force a fight alone without overextenting.
Recovery: Play for poke with Qiyana's Q until Malphite has his ultimate again. Do not force a bad engage just because cooldowns are up. -
Yasuo (High Value)
Synergy Mechanism: Yasuo's Last Breath works off any knock-up. Qiyana's Royal Deception and her terrain-based ultimate both set up Yasuo perfectly. This duo turns Qiyana's utility into massive damage.
Best Scenario: Qiyana lands a brush-element empowered attack or uses her ultimate to stun enemies against a wall. Yasuo instantly follows with his ultimate, keeping the targets suspended for a free kill.
Enemy Answer: Enemies can spread out to avoid Qiyana's ultimate splash. A reactive support like Janna can use Monsoon to disengage the moment Yasuo commits.
Failure Risk: Yasuo has a tendency to dive deep. If Qiyana stuns but Yasuo dies to tower aggro or focus fire, Qiyana is left alone in the backline with no escape.
Recovery: Qiyana should save her E (dash) to reposition after the combo. If Yasuo dies, use the element dash to escape over a wall rather than fighting to the death. -
Orianna (Medium-High Value)
Synergy Mechanism: Orianna offers a "ball delivery" system. Qiyana can dash into the enemy team with the ball on her head, allowing Orianna to cast Shockwave from an unexpected range.
Best Scenario: Qiyana dashes onto a priority target. Orianna triggers Shockwave, grouping enemies for Qiyana's ultimate. This double-wombo combo is devastating in the narrow ARAM lane.
Enemy Answer: Fast reaction times ruin this. If the enemy has a Sivir or a Morgana, spell shields can block the initial engage. Cleanse or Quicksilver also breaks the chain.
Failure Risk: Qiyana might dash too deep before Orianna is ready. If the communication fails, Qiyana dies alone without the Shockwave follow-up.
Recovery: Orianna should use her Dissonance to slow enemies if the combo fails, giving Qiyana a speed boost to run away. -

Best Scenario: Sett uses his E to slow and pull enemies. Qiyana uses her river element to root them in place, then Sett ults a high-value target into Qiyana's burst range.
Enemy Answer: Kiting destroys this melee-heavy synergy. If the enemy has strong disengage like Vayne or Azir, Sett may never reach them, leaving Qiyana with no one to burst.
Failure Risk: Both champions want to go in. If they engage at the wrong time, they get kited to death before doing any damage.
Recovery: Qiyana must play the second wave. Let Sett take the initial aggro, then use elements to peel for him or clean up low-health targets. -
Pyke (Medium Value)

Enemy Answer: Tanks can intercept the hook. If Pyke hooks a tank like Ornn or Malphite, Qiyana wastes her cooldowns on a target she cannot kill.
Failure Risk: This is a "win hard or lose hard" pairing. Both champions are squishy. If the pick fails, the team has no frontline.
Recovery: Play vision control and wait for the enemy to misposition. Do not force fights when major cooldowns are down.
