Team Synergy
Evelynn in Mayhem ARAM operates differently than on Summoner's Rift. She does not get to farm a jungle for six minutes; she is visible, squishy, and forced to interact early. Her team needs to cover her level three to six power trough and provide the lockdown she lacks. Once she hits six and picks up her first reset augment, she becomes a reset-based executioner. She is not a primary engage champion. She is a follow-up cleaner who needs a frontline to absorb the initial burst.
Core Team Needs
- Reliable Hard CC: Evelynn has a charm, but it requires time to arm. She needs teammates with instant stuns or knockups to set up her Allure or stop enemies from dashing through her ultimate.
- Strong Frontline: Someone must walk forward first. Evelynn cannot start a fight against a grouped enemy team without getting deleted. A tank like Leona or Ornn creates the chaos she needs to flank.
- Waveclear: Before level six, Evelynn struggles to clear waves without taking heavy poke. Teammates like Ziggs or Syndra must keep the wave off the tower so she does not get forced off the health relic.
Top Synergy Pairings
-
Malphite (High Value)
Synergy Mechanism: Malphite provides the ultimate engagement tool, forcing enemies to burn cooldowns instantly. Evelynn follows up with burst on targets knocked up or scattered.
Combo: Malphite lands R on multiple targets. As enemies recover from the knockup, Evelynn Ws a high-priority target, waits for the charm to arm, and casts R to execute the cluster. Malphite’s Ground Slam slows attack speed, reducing the damage Evelynn takes during her approach.
Best Scenario: The enemy team is grouped near their tower. Malphite forces them to scatter or die. Evelynn catches the isolated target or executes the low-health ones with a multi-man R.
Enemy Answer: Edge of Night stops the Malphite knockup. Janna or Soraka can sustain through the burst. A well-timed Lulu ult knocks Evelynn out of her R animation.
Failure Risk: If Malphite misses R, Evelynn has no way to start the fight. She gets poked down while waiting for his cooldown. Without the engage, she is useless.
Recovery: Disengage immediately. Let Malphite zone with Q while Evelynn looks for a flank angle on the next wave.
-
Leona (High Value)
Synergy Mechanism: Leona locks down a single target for an extended duration. This guarantees Evelynn’s W charm arms and lands, leading to a confirmed kill.
Combo: Leona E-Qs onto a squishy target. Evelynn places W on the same target during the root. The charm arms just as Leona’s stun ends, extending the disable window. Evelynn finishes with Q spam and R.
Best Scenario: Picking off an enemy who oversteps for poke. The chain CC prevents any reaction time, burning Flash or killing the target outright.
Enemy Answer: QSS or Cleanse breaks the chain. A support like Morgana casts Black Shield to block the charm and the follow-up damage.
Failure Risk: Leona goes in too deep without Evelynn in range. Leona dies instantly, and Evelynn is left 1v5 with no frontline.
Recovery: Evelynn must hold R. Use the invisibility to reposition to the side, looking for a counter-engage on the enemy backline who stepped forward to kill Leona.
-
Orianna (Medium-High Value)
Synergy Mechanism: Orianna provides zone control and a setup tool with her Shockwave. Her ball placement on a frontline initiator allows Evelynn to approach safely under the threat of a massive AOE stun.
Combo: Orianna places the ball on the tank engage. When the fight starts, Orianna R groups enemies. Evelynn R hits the clumped targets for maximum damage and shielding.
Best Scenario: Enemies are funneled through a narrow choke in Howling Abyss. The Shockwave hits 4-5 people, and Evelynn R executes them all for a pentakill.
Enemy Answer: Flash dashes out of the Shockwave radius. Unflinching or tenacity augments reduce the shockwave duration, allowing enemies to dash away before Evelynn R lands.
Failure Risk: Orianna whiffs R. The enemies walk forward aggressively. Evelynn, caught mid-flank, gets collapsed on because she has no disengage tools.
Recovery: Flash out if possible. If not, use R to execute the lowest health target to get the reset, then run. Do not try to 1v1 without cooldowns.
-
Brand (Medium Value)
Synergy Mechanism: Double AOE burst. Brand softens the entire enemy team with passive burns. Evelynn finishes them off with R, triggering resets.
Combo: Brand lands his full combo on the enemy frontline. As their health drops to 30%, Evelynn R executes them. The R hits nearby enemies, bringing them into Brand’s execute range.
Best Scenario: A chaotic teamfight where enemies are stacked. Brand’s passive spreads, and Evelynn acts as the finisher, chaining R resets.
Enemy Answer: Heavy magic resist stacking. Kaenic Rookern or Force of Nature neuter both champions. Healing augments or champions like Soraka out-heal the poke.
Failure Risk: Both champions are squishy and lack frontline. If the enemy has a hard engage comp like Vi or Jarvan, they get run over before dealing damage.
Recovery: Play way back. Wait for the enemy engage to burn cooldowns on the tower or other teammates before attempting a counter-pick.
-
Sett (Medium Value)
Synergy Mechanism: Sett acts as a bait champion. He draws focus fire, and Evelynn punishes the enemies who cluster around him.
Combo: Sett flashes and Ults the enemy carry into their own team. The enemies are briefly stunned and grouped. Evelynn R hits the pile for massive damage. Sett’s Grit shield absorbs the retaliation damage.
Best Scenario: The enemy team has a single fed carry. Sett isolates them with R, Evelynn bursts them down, and the fight becomes a 4v5.
Enemy Answer: Kiting. If Sett cannot reach a target, he provides no value. Peeling supports keep Sett off the carry, leaving Evelynn with no setup.
Failure Risk: Sett gets kited to death. Evelynn is forced to engage from the front, which results in her getting caught by skillshots.
Recovery: Wait for the enemy to overextend chasing Sett. Use the passive camouflage to find a side angle while they are distracted.
