Early Game: Levels 1–6
Start positioned near your front line but do not commit to the first minion wave until you see the enemy formation. Renekton needs Fury to threaten, so your first few seconds are about last-hitting with autos and Cull the Meek (Q) to build that resource bar. If the enemy team has heavy poke, let the wave come slightly forward and heal off the melee minions with Q rather than forcing a bad trade.
Use Snowball (Mark) to test their spacing. Throw it out when a key poke champion steps up to harass. If it connects, you have a choice: dash in with Slice and Dice (E) for a quick auto–W stun–Q trade, then E out immediately, or simply hold the mark to zone them off the wave. Do not flip in for an all-in unless your Fury is above 50 and their major cooldowns are down.
- Position: Center or slightly off-center, close enough to Q the wave but far enough to sidestep linear skill shots.
- Trading Rhythm: Short bursts. Dash in, auto–W–Q, dash out. Do not overstay; Renekton lacks the sustain to win extended poke wars early.
- Snowball Use: Use it to close gaps for short trades or to force the enemy to burn cooldowns dodging. Save the dash for disengage if their team collapses.
- Augment Use: If you have a damage-oriented augment, look for isolated targets. If you have a defensive or sustain augment, play slightly more aggressive in the wave to heal.
- Push or Stall: Push if you can hit multiple minions with Q and force the enemy under tower, limiting their poke. Stall if you are low on health or if their clear is faster than yours.
- Ahead Plan: Freeze the wave near your side and look for Flash–W all-ins on overextended squishies.
- Behind Plan: Give up wave control, soak experience, and look for Q healing on the wave. Do not force fights you cannot win.
- Next Move: Hit level 6 with high Fury, then look for an all-in with Dominus (R) when the enemy is mispositioned.
Mid Game: Levels 7–11
At this stage, your cooldowns are shorter, and your ultimate provides a significant health boost and area damage. Position yourself as a flank threat. Instead of standing directly in front of the enemy, look for angles where you can engage from the side or brush if the map allows. This forces the enemy to split their focus between you and your team.
Your trading pattern shifts from short pokes to decisive engages. Look for a target that has used their escape or major crowd control. Snowball becomes your primary engage tool. Connect the Mark, wait a split second to see if they flash, then dash in. Empowered Ruthless Predator (W) is your kill button—use it on a high-priority target to lock them down for your team to follow up.
- Position: Flank or off-angle. Make them worry about where you are, not just what you are doing in front of them.
- Trading Rhythm: Look for 70%–100% Fury before engaging. One good empowered W can turn a fight.
- Snowball Use: Engage on backline carries or peel for your own carries by jumping to divers. Do not waste it on tanks unless you need to gap-close to escape.
- Augment Use: Augments that add damage, healing, or ability haste significantly increase your dive threat. Use them to sustain through the initial burst when you dive the backline.
- Push or Stall: Push with your team when your ultimate is available. Stall or reset if your ult is down and you are low on resources.
- Ahead Plan: Dive the enemy backline without hesitation. Force them to focus you while your team cleans up.
- Behind Plan: Peel for your highest damage dealer. Use your stun and dash to disrupt enemy divers rather than trying to assassinate a carry.
- Next Move: Group with your team for the inevitable all-in fight. Look for a multi-man Q or a stun on a key target.
Late Game: Levels 12+
Late game Renekton is less about solo kills and more about creating space and disrupting the enemy formation. You are a tanky diver with strong crowd control, but you can be kited if you commit too early. Position with your team, but be ready to flank or engage the moment the enemy makes a positioning error.
Your Snowball and E combo must be used with precision. Engaging too deep without backup means you get focused and die for nothing. Engaging too late means your team gets poked down before the fight starts. Look for the moment their frontline overextends or their backline steps up for damage. Empowered Q heals for a significant amount, so use it in the middle of their team to sustain through the fight.
- Position: With your team, but ready to flank or engage from a side angle when the opportunity arises.
- Trading Rhythm: One major engage per fight. Make it count. Do not go in piecemeal.
- Snowball Use: Engage on the highest priority target that is reachable, or use it to reposition if the fight moves.
- Augment Use: Defensive and sustain augments shine here. Pop your ultimate and any defensive augment effects as you go in to maximize your effective health.
- Push or Stall: Push as a unit. Do not get caught alone. Stall if the enemy has a numbers advantage or if your team is waiting on respawn timers.
- Ahead Plan: Force fights around objectives or towers. Dive the enemy carries and force them to retreat or die.
- Behind Plan: Protect your carries. Use your stun and dash to peel assassins or divers off your backline. Look for a counter-engage if they overcommit.
- Next Move: End the game on a successful team fight. If the fight goes poorly, reset, buy, and regroup for the final defense or final push.
