"Purist - Sorcerer": Can only build AP items and take AP runes, gaining high AP and ability haste. The ultimate choice for pure AP mages.

Purest - Mage: Core effect: Can only purchase AP items and AP runes. Bonus effects: +40% AP + 25% ability haste. Stat scaling: Per 100 AP, additional +2% AP (max +20%). Limit: Cannot purchase AD items, defensive items (except AP defensive items), or non-AP runes.

Purist - Sorcerer: Automatically effective at game start. All AP items and runes function normally. Bonus effects automatically calculated.

Purist - Mage: Purchasing and carrying non-AP items, selecting non-AP runes, bonuses to non-AP stats are invalid

Purist - Caster + Deft + Eureka: Deft provides 60% bonus attack speed which Purist - Caster converts into 39 ability haste. Combined with Eureka's 30% AP as ability haste and the 10% cooldown reduction from Purist, mages gain massive ability haste scaling with AP, enabling near-spammable abilities in constant ARAM teamfights. Purist - Caster + Deft + Recursion: Deft's 60% bonus attack speed converts to 39 ability haste through Purist - Caster. Recursion adds a flat 60 ability haste. Combined with the 10% cooldown reduction, this creates extreme spell availability for ability-spam champions who no longer need attack speed items. Purist - Caster + Deft + Bread And Butter: Deft supplies 60% bonus attack speed that Purist - Caster converts into 39 ability haste. Bread And Butter adds 100 ability haste to your Q ability. The 10% cooldown reduction stacks multiplicatively with ability haste, making your primary ability available almost constantly. Purist - Caster + Deft + Infinite Recursion: Deft grants 60% bonus attack speed converted to 39 ability haste by Purist - Caster. Infinite Recursion provides 60 base ability haste that grows by 3 per takedown. The scaling ability haste combined with 10% cooldown reduction creates overwhelming spell frequency as fights progress.

Avoid Purist - Caster + Slow and Steady: Avoid this pairing because Slow and Steady sets your base attack speed to a static value and prevents all attack speed bonuses from functioning. Purist - Caster relies on having bonus attack speed to convert into ability haste. With attack speed bonuses nullified, the conversion effect becomes completely useless, wasting the core value of this augment. Avoid Purist - Caster + Deft: This pairing has extremely low value because Deft grants 60% bonus attack speed, which Purist - Caster converts to only 39 ability haste. This is a poor trade since you lose all attack speed benefits for a mediocre ability haste amount. You would be better off taking an augment that directly grants ability haste without the conversion penalty. Avoid Purist - Caster + Symphony of War: Symphony of War grants Conqueror and Lethal Tempo keystones. Lethal Tempo provides massive attack speed bonuses that become significantly devalued when converted to ability haste. The attack speed scaling from Lethal Tempo is meant for auto-attackers, not casters. This creates a role mismatch where half the keystone value is wasted on a caster-focused build. Avoid Purist - Caster + Critical Rhythm: Critical Rhythm grants 25% critical strike chance and bonus attack speed on critical strikes. The attack speed stacks from this augment convert poorly to ability haste. Additionally, critical strike chance has no synergy with a caster playstyle that Purist - Caster encourages. Both augments pull in opposite build directions, reducing overall effectiveness.

Purest Sorcerer: Don't build any non-AP items, otherwise all bonuses are lost. Don't choose any non-AP runes, otherwise all bonuses are lost. Don't ignore AP defensive items, they improve survival. In losing games, pure AP build is very fragile, easily focused down.
